.

Picasso and Braque looked to Cezanne for inspiration in developing Cubism. French, German, Italian, Dutch and Russian artists followed, adding political and spiritual meaning while using multiple vantage points to fracture images into geometric forms. In this presentation, Art History Professor Mary Vahey will explore artists and offshoots of Cubism, a major movement in the first half of the 20th century, including Dada, De Stijl, and Suprematism.
