Join Woodbury Public Library and Studio Hill Gallery and Design Shop for a day celebrating the written word!

The Library will host three panels moderated by poet Sandy Carlson and writer Cindy Eastman.  

At Studio Hill Gallery and Design Shop, 507 Main Street South, you'll have a chance to meet authors Steven Parlato, Gioia Diliberto, and Gabi Coatsworth.

The day culimates with a movie screening of Chris Belden's A Little White Lie based on his novel Shriver.

Sandy Carlson is a teacher and writer in northwestern Connecticut.  She was born and raised in Connecticut, where her family has deep roots.  Sandy actively promotes poetry in the community among a variety of organizations.  She leads the Orenaug Poetry Group in Woodbury and is the editor of the Orenaug Mountain Poetry Journal.  She has nine collections of poetry.  She also is the host of two podcasts, “People and Their Poems” and ”Woodbury Writes”, a collaboration with the Woodbury Public Library. www.sandycarlson.net

Cindy Eastman is an award-winning author whose first book, Flip-FlopsAfter 50: And Other Thoughts On Aging I Remembered To Write Down is a collection of essays on getting older. She has essays in several other anthologies and in online magazines and writes a weekly essay called Silver Linings. She is the creator of the “Writual” writing program and has presented nationally at the Story Circle Network Women’s Writing Conference as well as having been a featured speaker on a number of panels and programs.  An educator for over 25 years, Cindy has taught writing to students from age 5 to 85 in a variety of methodologies and settings. She has a master’s degree in education and is an adjunct at Naugatuck Valley Community College teaching English. Cindy currently lives with her husband Angelo in Watertown, CT. www.cindyeastman.com

Studio Hill Gallery and Design Shop is an award-winning art gallery, located at 507 Main Street South, Woodbury, CT.  Studio Hill has been supporting and advancing the arts in Woodbury and Litchfield County for almost three years. They feature and promote emerging, mid-career, and established artists and are actively involved in the area’s Arts Alliance which presented owners Nadine Cascini and Jim Hinkle with the award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts earlier this year.  www.studiohillct.com
