May 18 - Jun 9, 2024 11am-5pm Tue-Sun

Opening Reception: Sun, May 19, 2024 2 - 4 pm

Humans have been responsible for degradation of our environment and destruction of so much natural habitat. This exhibit gives artists a chance to try and give back to nature, to craft novel wildlife housing and provide new habitat, while showcasing their artistic creativity. Works will be practical to conceptual and will include insect, bird and bat houses to wintering shelters for local mammals. We plan to engage local wildlife organizations and will feature live animal demonstrations!

Art At 2300 Gallery June 1st & 2nd

A pop-up gallery, open 1 weekend per month, from Now to November.

The Founding Artists: Seascape painter Karen Berman-Mulligan, watercolorist Jean Hart, and gemstone jeweler, Angelique Swingle will invite guest artists show with us in the gallery or in a tent.  In addition we bring local musicians, instructors, or demonstrations to perform or conduct a class.

The May event of Art At 2300 Gallery was very enjoyable.

We hope folks will understand the Art At 2300 Gallery philosophy. The artist is provided with an opportunity to spend the weekend or a day meeting visitors, other artists and discussing art and art relationships and, hopefully selling.  This month there were paintings, jewelry, ceramics, photography, prints, cards, and turned wood.

In addition, we will bring local musicians, instructors, to demonstrate, to perform or conduct a class. We want parents to enjoy, so we provide an art table under a tent for kids to come along and create, while parents can explore the art. Children who just met had a great time making their own art which was hung from their own tent!

It was a nurturing weekend for everyone.

Our event will be June 1st and 2nd.

2300 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington.

(It is a yellow ranch house, tents in the driveway and full garage gallery).

Guest artist Catherine Hart, an oil and portrait painter, will join us.

Yoga instructor, Doreen Leopold-Mitchell, MPT will conduct a class on Saturday afternoon at 1:30.

Time: Sat & Sun 11am- 5pm.

Next Event:  July 14 & 15.

First Parish in Lexington presents

A Bel Canto Soirée:
Songs, duets and instrumental compositions by Maria Malibran and

Pauline Viardot, sisters-extraordinaires of the Romantic Era.

Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 7:00 PM

7 Harrington Road, Lexington, MA 02421

This June, you are invited for an elegant soirée where you will be able to experience first hand some of the most admired compositions by the ingenious sisters Maria Malibran and Pauline Viardot as performed by Julia Jaffe (mezzo) and Yunona Tabala (soprano), in collaboration with Rip Jackson (piano) and John Rogler (cello). Dashing vocal performers, brilliant composers, elegant socialites, intellectuals, friends of Liszt, Chopin, George Sand, Turgenev and Saent-Saens - without these two women, American and European artistic scenes as we know them today would not have been the same. Sisters, and daughters of the imposing Spanish pedagogue Manuel García, Malibran and Viardot each left an indelible mark on nineteenth-century opera with their virtuosic performances. A free-will offering will be received, and public parking is available in the rear of the church. For more information visit www.fplex.org or email music@fplex.org.

Whatever route walkers choose, participants will be treated to  refueling stations with refreshments throughout the course. Poster-sized photographs of patients – Jimmy Fund Walk Heroes – are displayed along the course as inspiration. Walkers can participate virtually, as well.

All routes will conclude at the Jimmy Fund Walk Finish Line Powered by Schneider Electric at Boston Common, by the corner of Charles and Beacon Street. The finish line will include a celebration with food, entertainment, and more. Public transportation is encouraged.
