Give your toddler a foundation for early learning and reading skills. Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and stories will be presented via Zoom. Adults learn tips and tricks to continue the learning at home.

To join this program, you’ll need a computer or mobile device with camera and microphone to participate.

About 30 minutes. Ages 19-35 months. Registration is required and limited. Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link, password, and further instructions the day before each week's program. Note: This program is weekly from January 6th- May 5th with rolling registration. We will do our best to follow-up with those registering after the weekly email reminder is sent.

While we can't be together to discover and explore, plenty of STEM can happen right where you are! Bring your own science, tech, engineering, art, or math activities and share with others via Zoom! LEGOs and other blocks, experiments, tech gadgets/gaming, and art of all kinds can be worked on individually (or simultaneously) in a social, virtual atmosphere.

To join this program, you'll need a computer or mobile device with a camera and microphone to participate.

About 45 minutes. For ages 6-12. Registration is required and limited. Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link, password, and further instructions.

Join us once a week as we talk about our favorite books! We will be changing the theme of the books we read each month to coincide with The Library’s promotional theme. January’s theme is the ALA Book Awards. February’s theme is Black History Month, and March’s theme is Women’s History month. Registration is rolling, so sign up any time!

1.5 hours. For ages 14-17. Registration is required and limited. Registrants will be emailed a Discord link and further instructions. Due to Discord's terms of service, participants must be at least 13. A device with a microphone and a camera is recommended.

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. This series explores different activities that are designed to help you relax and relieve stress.

For March, take time to pause after a busy day. Join instructor Mia Bostic for an evening of meditation. Never meditated before? This class is open to all levels.

It’s harder than ever lately to hang with friends outside of school, so come join our Discord server! Join The Library and other teens from the community on Discord, a safe communication app, on Tuesdays after school as we game together, and Thursdays after school to chat and hangout. Who knows, maybe you’ll join one of our other Discord-based programs along the way!

Due to Discord’s terms of service, participants must be at least 13.

Have you always wanted to try Dungeons and Dragons, but have no idea where to begin? Come clear a dungeon that will teach you the rules of the game and allow you to become an adventurer! For beginners or those that want a refresh on Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition.

Join us for a virtual tabletop game night! We may not be able to gather in person to go on adventures, but that won’t stop us from exploring. Never played a tabletop game? That’s okay! We’re more than happy to help you learn—the more the merrier! Can’t make it to every session? Our expert dungeon master has prepared 1-hour campaigns, so we will start fresh with each session.

Join us for a very special presentation focusing on the life and work of Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, famed abolitionist, literary figure, and champion for civil and women’s rights. Sharia Benn will perform an excerpt from her acclaimed original production “Voices of F.E.W.” as Harper, before returning as herself to provide us with valuable insight about this incredible woman’s life and activism. Dr. Jean Corey will delve into the historical context of Harper’s writing and help us to answer the question, “Why have I not heard more about this amazing woman?”

Sharia Benn is the Founder, President and Executive Artistic Director of the Sankofa African American Theatre Company in Harrisburg. 

Dr. Jean Corey is a Professor of English and Director of the Center for Public Humanities at The Messiah University.
