Books and music pair up for preschoolers. Children will sing, play rhythm instruments, participate in movement activities, and be introduced to basic music vocabulary. Books and storytelling will enrich this program and support early learning skills.

45 minutes. Ages: 3-6 years.  Registration required.

Give your toddler a foundation for early learning and reading skills. Songs, rhymes, finger plays, and stories help toddlers to develop a love of reading. Adults learn tips and tricks to continue teaching at home.

Program length: 45 minutes. Ages: 19-35 months.  Registration required.

Hilliard Greene presents “Milestone Negro Spirituals: When Folksongs Bring Freedom.” This performance/workshop in words and music brings to light the significance and beauty of the remarkable songs associated with the Underground Railroad.  These uniquely American heritage songs are recognized as a distinct musical genre. The music that will be featured is based on the coded Negro spirituals that runaway slaves used to elude capture.

Selections will include: Swing Low Sweet Chariot, Wade in The Water, Deep River, Go Down Moses, Michael Row De Boat Ashore, and I Couldn’t Hear Nobody Pray

Hilliard Greene is acclaimed for composing and performing solo contrabass music.  Former musical director for jazz vocalist Jimmy Scott, he is the leader of The Jazz Expressions and member of the Zigzag Quartet.

Make an eco-friendly, upcycled, scrap fabric wreath! During this program, participants will learn how to use fabric scraps and a wreath frame to make this one of a kind wreath. All materials and a blue snowflake patterned fabric will be provided; however, participants are welcome to bring 2 yards of their own fabric.
