Red Joan movie

Red Joan (2019, R, 101 minutes)

Directed by Trevor Nunn.  Starring: Judi Dench, Sophie Cookson, Stephen Campbell Moore, Tom Hughes, Freddie Gaminara, Laurence Spellman.

Joan Stanley is a widow living out a quiet retirement in the suburbs when, shockingly, the British Secret Service places her under arrest. The charge: providing classified scientific information, including details on the building of the atomic bomb, to the Soviet government for decades. As she is interrogated, Joan relives the dramatic events that shaped her life and beliefs: her student days at Cambridge, where she excelled at physics while challenging deep-seated sexism.

Who doesn't love movies?  We've decided to start a movie discussion group; we'll have a small selection of movies to choose from, and on the night in question will decide which is preferred.  After watching it, we will discuss our thoughts.  All movies will be PG-13 or below; and titles not discussed will be available to borrow.  Join us!

To make it comfy (and affordable); bring a snack to share, and wear comfy clothes.  Feel free to bring cushions or pillows to sit on (much nicer & more comfy than chairs).

Nov is family movies (or movies ABOUT family to be more exact); so we'll choose between Enchanted, Pleasantville, Goonies, My Girl, Nanny McPhee, Mr. Nanny, Cheaper by the Dozen; and since there's no school on 11/7 it will be a double feature!

Dec 26 is family movies from a Bollywood view, so we'll choose between Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, English Vinglish, Taare Zameen Par, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Ta Ra Rum Pum.
