September Exhibit Go To Top
misc_none The Dance of Life: Land Sea and Sky Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend

The Silk Road Art Guild presents: The Dance of Life: Land Sea and Sky.  This exhibit will focus on our natural world, its beauty and its fragility.  The world is our only home and we want to celebrate it and preserve it for the generations yet to come.  Our art focuses on the earth from the perspective of that Eastern sensibility which tells us that the life around us is indeed the life within us as well.  Art is the expression of the human response to life as it is lived.  The paintings and weavings shown in this exhibit are the creation of the artists and the natural objects are the creation of time, water, air and earth.

SESP volunteers make special education decisions for children in state custody, whose parents are unknown or unable to be located. They attend special education meetings just as a parent would and help to ensure these students receive the special education services they need to succeed. This free training covers topics like complex childhood trauma, the effects of trauma on learning, and the IEP process. To become an SESP, volunteers must fill out our application, attend a training, and undergo a CORI check. For more information, please check out website, http://fcsn.org/rtsc/.

misc_none An Empty Place at the Table Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend

Domestic Violence is the leading cause of injury to women. We hear about incidents through the media, yet many times we forget about the spaces left empty at dinner tables across the state. The emptiness does not occur just on Sundays or holidays, it is there 365 days a year.

This tribute of remembrance honors those who have lost their lives to domestic violence during the past year in Massachusetts. The names of every victim are inscribed onto each place setting, a powerful display of the family memories that will be missed.
