ExploringYour Immigrant Ancestor - Part 2
Think you may have an ancestor who served in the Continental Army or contributed to the Patriot cause in Revolutionary War? Learn where to look and how to verify the information. The program will also touch upon entrance requirements for the Sons/ Daughters of the American Revolution.
Researching your family tree can be an amazing and rewarding experience. It can also be confusing and very time-consuming. The Family Tree Climber, Sarah Gutmann, is here to give you the tools you need to build and branch out YOUR family tree and make sure you are not climbing someone else's. Attend one or all three of the programs. Please register for each webinar.
Register for the event and receive a Zoom link 30 minutes before the program.

This month we will discuss Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke. Deeply ambivalent about growing up black in the lone star state, Texas Ranger Darren Mathews was the first in his family to get as far away from Texas as he could -- until duty called him home. When allegiance to his roots puts his job in jeopardy, he travels up Highway 59 to the small town of Lark, where two murders -- a black lawyer from Chicago and a local white woman -- have stirred up a hornet’s nest of resentment. Darren must solve the crimes before Lark’s long-simmering racial fault lines erupt.
Copies of the book are available at both libraries; call to set up a pick-up time. You can also check out the ebook or audiobook from Overdrive/Libby through CLAMS or another consortium in Massachusetts with your CLAMS card. Please email ckaufmann@clamsnet.org or call the library at 508-760-4820 to register to receive a Zoom link or with any questions.
If you need Zoom assistance, please call 508-760-4820 x1315 or email ckaufmann@clamsnet.org to set up a troubleshooting session.

This month we will be discussing The Garden of Small Beginnings by Abbi Waxman. Lilian Girvan has been a single mother for three years and she’s just starting to get the hang of this widow thing. The only problem is she’s becoming overwhelmed with being underwhelmed. Apparently, being the illustrator for a series of boutique vegetable guides means getting your hands dirty, literally. But what she soon discovers—with the help of a patient instructor and a quirky group of gardeners—is that into every life a little sun must shine, whether you want it to or not...
Copies of the book are available at both libraries; call to set up a pick-up time. In 1972, Holly and her husband decided to take a trip around the world, starting in South America. It turned out to be a life-and-death adventure of survival on the Madre de Dios River in the jungles of the Amazon. Hear about this true story of "love and survival by raft" in a relentless environment. Tell your friends and neighbors to join us - on Zoom. Register here and we will send you an email with the link to connect online for this event. Our thanks to the South Yarmouth Library Association for sponsoring this library learning event.
