Come and participate in our One Book/One Town program by creating a self-portrait for a cause! This year we are helping the “Students Rebuild”
Organization. Kids will create a meaningful self-portrait that reflects their sense of identity. Each portrait submitted generates funding from the Bezos Family Foundation - up to $600,000 - to support programs run by CARE and Search for Common Ground, helping youth on different sides of conflict build peace. Registration is suggested.

Parents & Caregivers– We encourage you to read our One Book/ One Town Community read, The Yellow Envelope, by Kim Dinan and talk to your kids about it.

The Pen*Stars Creative Workshop provides a creative platform for children where they, read, learn new words, and create their own stories for a chance to become published authors  or artists.  The workshop is conducted by the authors of the Pen*Stars Series, who inspire and hlep children discover their true potential and bring it out in the form of writing and drawing.  Stories created by children may be featured in the Pen*Stars Series, an interactive book series created by children, for children.

Get ready for the SAT or ACT with a free practice test. This full-length practice test will give you the chance to see what sitting for the exam will feel like and to practice test taking skills. Students will receive their score reports at the Results Session. Each family will be able to meet briefly with a C2 Representative to discuss opportunities for improvement and look at a test-prep plan. Parents should plan to accompany their child to the follow-up. 

Registration is required for the test & follow-up.

Note: The essay portion of the exam will not be offered, but students wishing to take the essay may make arrangements to come to C2
Education’s center. Additionally, we cannot offer individual time accommodations during this test, but families wishing to schedule a test with additional time may contact C2 Education to make arrangements

Give your children the gift of traditional oral African folklore as we explore interactive stories for the spirit, in honor of Black History Month! Join us for this special “Art in Education Touring” program that tells us how and why things have come about. Featuring acclaimed solo performer “Ade” Anthony Thompson and New Haven Master African Drummer Brian Jarwa Gray with an introduction by Africa Explains Project Manager, Julia Santos! Together, the two performers bring African Oral Tradition to life while engaging their audiences in songs and dances that have been passed down from one generation to another.
