This month, WPL Rocks Art with the photography of architectural designer Richard Spisto.  Style, form, color and the interplay of light are all featured elements in his works.  Meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. Mr. Spisto’s exhibit will be on display at the Rushmore Memorial Branch of Woodbury Public Library throughout the month of July.

the magic strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom is the complex and moving story chosen for our Libraries ROCK! Adult Summer Reading Program.  Narrated by Music, the work features 'reminiscences' about the musical prodigy protagonist, Frankie, by musical talents such as Roger McGuinn, John Pizzarelli, and Wynton Marsalis. A limited number of copies are available at the Highland Mills Branch, and the novel is available for inter-library loan check out via the RCLS catalog.  You will remember this work long after you've read it!

ADULT & TEEN PROGRAM

Combine high performing habits with practical success strategies!  Local Monroe-Woodbury teacher and coach, Ed Finnerty, will share tips for active teens and busy parents.  Topics include handling failure, choosing friends wisely & how to stay committed to finishing what you start.  His presentation will cover tested and proven character development achieved through 'action steps' you can undertake.  Ed's advice is more fully described in his book "drops of wisdom", available in our library and for individual purchase.  Join us & be inspired to start on the road to achieving your full potential!

This program will be held at the Rushmore branch in Highland Mills in the Senior Center.

Spanning multiple continents, the themes of hope, perseverance and freedom are explored in song and a pictorial presentation by this native son of South Africa.  Toby's travels have taken him to Jerusalem and, ultimately, to New York, where he discovered his true calling as an American songwriter.  Light refreshments will be provided.  Please join us for this powerful and stirring afternoon performance!
