The Lexington Conservation Stewards Present:
Orchard Care Workshop Series at Cotton Farm
- Hands-on workshops with orchardist Denis Wagner
- Gain skills in pruning, grafting, pest management, and holistic orchard care
- Get involved in our new Orchard Steward Program!
The orchard at Cotton Farm provides an important cultural, historic, and agricultural resource for Lexington. Join the Stewards this winter/spring for a series of workshops aimed at building our skills in holistic orchard management.
Saturday, April 6th, 9-12 (rain date: 4/20): Hands on grafting training at Cotton Farm; we will graft a variety of heritage and cider apple varieties with your help!
We hope you’ll consider joining our new Orchard Steward Program. As an Orchard Steward, you’ll work with a dedicated group of likeminded volunteers to maintain the orchard, prune, graft, and fertilize on an annual basis, and help organize an annual apple festival at the orchard. This will be a great opportunity to help protect this beautiful property, learn new skills, and meet other orchard enthusiasts in Lexington.
$10 suggested donation to the Lexington Nature Trust for each workshop.
