EventKeeper : Tell a Friend

Tuesday May 21, 2019
7:00 PM until 8:30 PM

My Mom's WWII Letters: The program is the story of writer Corinne Smith discovered more than a hundred letters from 16 different servicemen that her mother corresponded with during World War II. She has taken on the task of tracking down their descendants and returning the letters. So far, she had given them back to five families who had no idea that handwritten pages from their soldier still existed. It’s been a fun and educational project, and much is still left to do. In this presentation, she shares the process of her search, as well as stories of the men, their experiences, and what their relatives have to say today. This presentation links history and genealogy to present-day research and diligence. It revisits a time that we may not want to forget.
