A Universe of Stories! Summer Reading 2019!
Program begins June 24!
This year's program will run from June 24th until August 15th. Participants in our summer reading program are invited to read for fun & enjoyment all summer! This includes children of all ages – and all reading counts!
The Boxborough Library has a variety of interesting, entertaining and fun programs lined up to help you and your children enjoy the summer months. Beginning June 3, 2019 you may create your online account in Wandoo Reader (to sign up go to boxlib.org and select the summer reading icon). Come in to the library to select your brag tag & necklace for our Read & Bead Program, and pick up a reading log & a copy of our summer events & activities calendar!
Our offerings include: A Magic Show with Scott Jameson, Emergency Vehicle Day & Story Time with a Fireman, Bubbles with Mike the Bubble Man, DinoMan Space Show, Art Workshops, Live Animals with Creature Teachers, crafts, movies, LEGO Club, Story Time, etc -- and our annual Ice Cream Party will Feature Bubbles & Balloons by Ed Popielarczyk!
Children & Young Adults will have three ways to record their reading minutes! First in our online reading log, Wandoo Reader. This program allows you to make selections and use reading minutes to navigate. With this unique online program, you will be invited to write book reviews, and participate in challenges, including Library Activities, Planets, and Moon Trivia. The second way to record your reading progress is with our Read & Bead program. Depending upon how many minutes you have read you will be rewarded with beads to build a necklace – and you can trade your beads as you progress! The third way to record your reading is with a paper reading log, lined or with stickers – you determine the goal.
A Universe of Stories is a State-wide Reading Program, funded by the Friends of the Library, the Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council, the Massachusetts Regional Library System, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and the Boston Bruins!
