EventKeeper : Tell a Friend
Community Read Book Discussion - Kids

Wednesday October 20, 2021
4:30 PM until 5:30 PM

Sargent Memorial Library would like to invite you to our first ever Community Read event!

This fall, join us to read and discuss two books: Little House on the Prairie, by Laura Ingalls Wilder (published 1935), and Prairie Lotus, by Linda Sue Park (published 2020). Both books are about a young girl and her family's experience as settlers during the American western expansion in the late 1800's. Read and see how their experiences match up or differ. We chose these two books because they are both wonderful reads that can be read by readers of all ages so the whole family can read together. Furthermore, the books provide an opportunity for us to continue and deepen our conversations about communities, histories, and different perspectives.

If you would like to participate, place holds for both of the titles through the library catalog. The Silver Unicorn Bookstore will also have them available for purchasing. If you need assistance placing holds let us know!

To register either session of the Kids' Discussion, please fll out this form: https://forms.gle/KkPHLsyMdBPTUgUy5

We will be hosting multiple sessions of book discussions for different age groups (and one for the whole family to participate together) throughout October.
