Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art form which helps with the integration of mind and body. It revolves around cultivating life energy, or Qi, which flows smoothly and powerfully. It is much more than exercise--some potential benefits include body awareness, mindfulness, balance, focus, calmness, flexibility, coordination, muscle strength, improved immunity, and internal and external strength and grace.
This class is designed to teach teens not only the gentle movements of Tai Chi but also how to be patient and persevere in a practice that takes time to develop. Our Western mindset is challenged with this Eastern concept of regular practice and patience.
