Creating Musical Readers: The Story of Ferdinand

Sunday November 21, 2021
2:00 PM until 2:45 PM

Creating Musical Readers is a musical literacy program for children and their caregivers developed and presented by the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. WSO musicians bring beloved children's stories to life, by playing their instruments along with the reading of the story. Guest musicians will talk about their instruments and what it is like to play in an orchestra.

Ferdinand is the world's most peaceful--and--beloved little bull. While all of the other bulls snort, leap, and butt their heads, Ferdinand is content to just sit and smell the flowers under his favorite cork tree. Leaf's simple storytelling paired with Cyrus Stevens on the violin makes this reading a magical experience.
