Thursday May 20, 2021
5:00 PM

The Life and Music of George Gershwin, an American Genius with John Whelan.   A look at the remarkable life of George Gershwin and the music he created.  From "Rhapsody in Blue" to "An American in Paris" to "Porgy and Bess" and his many popular songs, Gershwin wrote music for the ages. His songs makes up a significant part of what is known as The Great American Songbook.  Gershwin is an all-time favorite of classical and jazz musicians.  His premature death at 38 deprived the world of one of its great composers.  An EPL 125th anniversary event.
