Stress Busters! presented by Families First at Community Mental HealthTuesday November 21, 2023
3:00 PM until 5:00 PM
Welcome to Stress Busters!
Everyone has big feelings at times. Children and adolescents who learn to manage those feelings at an early age have a big advantage in life. It’s an important skill for growing minds!
Families Forward at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties offers fun and engaging skills-based groups at the Grand Ledge Area District Library. These groups will help youth of all ages learn practical skills to help them manage life stress, improve their social skills, and have fun doing it! New participants are always welcome – come join us! No registration necessary.
Please Note: no sessions on Sept. 19, Oct 31, or Dec. 19.
- Tues., 3pm: Ages 3-6 & caregivers: This group focuses on easy activities children can do to help feel better when they are facing big feelings. Learn about movement and breathing, using artwork to express feelings, and how laughter helps us feel better.
- Tues., 4pm: Ages 7-10 & Ages 11-14: Older children learn about the impact of stress and common sources of stress, and learn to manage stress levels. Practice valuable social skills such as respecting personal space, using good listening, learning to effectively communicate, interpreting body language and more.
New! Join us for "Meet & Pizza Treat" 1x per month: Nov. 7, Dec. 5, Jan 9, Feb 6, Mar 5, April 9 and May 4!
