Join us as we discuss Caste: the Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. This is a nonfiction examination of race in America framed more as a caste system with such terms as “dominant caste', “favored caste”, “upper caste” and “lower caste.” Wilkerson argues that in the United States “Caste is the bones, race is the skin.” Dwight Garner, reviewing “Caste” for the New York Times wrote “It's an extraordinary document, one that strikes me as an instant American classic and almost certainly the keynote nonfiction book of the American century thus far.”
