The Kingston Public Library Local History Collections is hosting an exhibit open house on Wednesday, August 18 2023 at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Adams Center (33 Summer Street, Kingston). The open house features the exciting new exhibit, Historic Cemeteries and Gravestones of Kingston. 

This new exhibit features historic, archival materials on the many different aspects and facets of historic Kingston cemeteries and gravestones. The exhibit primarily focuses on the town’s historic cemeteries such as the Old Burying Ground and Evergreen Cemetery. The exhibit will also focus on the town’s several notable historic gravestone carvers, unique Kingston gravestones, historic New England cemeteries in general, and preservation projects and efforts that have been done specifically for Kingston cemeteries.

This new exhibit will be up and viewable Wednesday, October 18th through Tuesday, October 31st at the Adams Center. The exhibit’s open house will be held on Wednesday, October 18th 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the Adams Center. There will be a talk and presentation on the exhibit by the Archivist on Saturday, October 21st from 2:00 PM - 4:00PM. The exhibit hours are: Mondays 10:30AM-12:30PM, Tuesdays 5:30PM to 7:30PM, Wednesdays 2:00PM to 4:00PM, and Thursdays 2:00PM to 4:00PM.
