Mashpee Conservation Department is continuing its schedule of free Naturalist-guided tours of Mashpee’s unique and diverse conservation areas. This week, take a naturalist guided walk exploring the diverse and spectacular habitats such as vernal pools, upland forest, herring run, freshwater marsh, river, and abandoned cranberry bogs at Santuit Pond Preserve! The tour departs at 9:00 AM from the parking lot at the Santuit Pond Preserve.
Directions: From the Mashpee Rotary, take Great Neck Road North. Turn right onto Route 130. Parking lot is just past the Shell Station.
All tours are sponsored by the Mashpee Conservation Department. All ages are invited and children are encouraged to come. Many nature programs are designed for children and their families. Further information can be obtained by calling the Mashpee Conservation Department at 539-1400, ext. 8540, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Guide maps for many conservation areas are available at the Conservation offices at the Mashpee Town Hall. Tours may be cancelled in the event of stormy weather. All tours will practice social distancing guidelines.
