Fashion expert Karen Antonowicz will be back to give another fun talk called "The History of Beauty and Cosmetics" this evening online via Zoom. Do you wonder where cosmetics originated and how they evolved through the years? If so, join us as we explore the origins of makeup and the ways in which societal changes influenced the beauty industry's development. As cosmetics became more acceptable in the early 20th century, ladies were able to choose from a variety of beautifying products they hoped would make their romantic dreams come true! Ms. Antonowicz has a Masters from the University of Rhode Island and has taught the History of Fashion and other college courses for 13 years. For 5 years, she and her husband Mike ran Nostalgia Antiques & Collectibles in Rhode Island, and she speaks about clothing, accessories, antiques, and related subjects often at various organizations. Karen's Vermont company, Spirits of Fashion, is the vehicle for producing lectures and workshops on all eras of the history of fashion.
Advance registration is required for this Zoom event; once signed up here, a Zoom connection link will be Emailed to you on the day of the program.
