Direct from Tel Aviv, via Zoom, we are thrilled to welcome authors Julie Gray and Gidon Lev for this special event. The True Adventures of Gidon Lev, chosen as one of the best books of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews, recounts the amazing life of Gidon Lev, one of the fewer than 100 children out of 15,000 who survived the Nazi concentration camp of Theresienstadt in the Czech Republic. After the war, Gidon wound up in Toronto, Canada, where he became involved with the Zionist youth organization HaShomer HaTzair. Gidon went on to serve in the IDF, guarding Mt. Scopus in 1962 and fighting in a combat unit in the Six Day War as well as the War of Attrition. One part memoir, one part travelogue, and one part history that you thought you knew, The True Adventures of Gidon Lev is a love letter to life.
