Finding Slavery in New England: History and MemoryWednesday December 16, 2020

Storrs Library and the Longmeadow Historical Society are excited to offer this historical presentation with Dr. Ian Delahanty. Dr. Delahanty will be highlighting scholarly new findings on the history of slavery in New England, and presenting case studies of historical commemoration of slavery and abolition in the region. Cosponsored by Longmeadow Historical Society and Friends of Storrs Library.
Dr. Ian Delahanty is an assistant professor of history at Springfield College. His research and scholarship focus on the American Civil War Era and the intertwined histories of slavery, abolitionism, and immigration, especially in Massachusetts.
