Each family will receive a Letters Are Characters Tote bag. This bag, available for curbside pick up, will contain:

  • Letters Are Characters book for parents,
  • Letters Are Characters coloring book for children
  • letter dough
  • scented crayons
  • ABC book that we will read together each week.

Only the Letter Are Characters book for parents is to be returned to the library at the end of the program.

Why Letters Are Characters:

A child’s knowledge of letter sounds by age six is the most important indicator of future reading ability. Letters are Characters gets kids ready to read in a fun and engaging way ensuring that they get the right start. It also empowers parents though awareness and understanding of the science of reading in the brain.

More than 2/3 of American children are not proficient readers by 4th grade according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress.  Together we can change this trajectory.

Please sign-up for Letters are Characters... you'll get letter dough, crayons and information that will ensure your child reads to their highest potential.
