Skip Marsh 'Yesterday and Today' a collection of paintings through the years.

Friday September 1, 2023

The paintings of Skip Marsh display in the Library's Gallery Space for September.

Skip Marsh is a Connecticut native who grew up in Shelton and now lives in Thomaston. At an early age he always showed an interest in drawing and at age 12 took up painting under the eye of a local artist (Cal Martin) starting out in watercolors and oils. He did well enough to enter and show his work locally and win a number of awards while also doing numerous outdoor shows where he began selling his work. Through the years as life happened there was less time to paint with family and career obligations but in 2018 after retiring, he was able to go back to painting full time! Skips realistic style has evolved over the years, often influenced by several favorite artists like Eric Sloane, NC Wyeth and Frank Frazetta!

Today he paints in acrylics and focuses on the beauty we see all around us in a wide range of favorite subjects capturing details and color.
