Addressing and Settling Issues Between Parents of Children with Special Needs
Presented by two of the original Founders of POAC (Parents of Autistic Children) Lawrence R. Jones, Former NJ Superior Court Judge and Joni Jones, R.N.
Please join Lawrence R. Jones and Joni Jones for a special presentation concerning the challenges of mediating and resolving issues in a divorce and other family disputes between parents of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The process of separation and divorce can become legally complicated when involving parents of children with special needs. Topics to be discussed include issues such as parental disputes over diagnosis and intervention, custody, parenting time, support, special expenses, educational issues, and other relevant subjects, followed by a Q&A session.
The co-presenters of this program are longtime public educators in the field of autism. Lawrence recently retired from public service as a New Jersey Family Court judge, and authored the court opinion in the case of Rooney v Wall which addresses many issues relevant to parents, attorneys, courts, and mediators concerning children with autism. Joni is a board-certified nurse, and has presented extensively for over two decades on the subject of ASD.
This session will be conducted on Zoom and is free of charge. Registration and internet access are required to attend. Register below to receive emailed information on how to access the conversation. The link will be emailed Wednesday, October 13 by 4:00 pm, after registration closes at noon.
