Did you know that there is more that one kind of ladybug? There are lots! And some of them are disappearing. Be a ladybug citizen scientist with us. We’ll learn all about them and then head out to the garden to see if we can spot some. For school-aged children and family.
What is Citizen Science?
Calling naturalists of all ages. Did you ever wonder what kind of ladybug is crawling on your finger, or how many different birds or fireflies are in your backyard? Well, many scientists have wondered the same things, and you can help them to find the answers. Observe, identify, photograph, chronicle! Anyone can volunteer to help collect data for real-world science. Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania’s Citizen Science Series will help you to learn more about these projects and how you can participant. Each class features a project that collects data about a specific animal group. No experience necessary, great for families! Some age restrictions on certain classes, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
