Montgomery Clift: The Lost Actor Part I (Virtual Program)

Discover Golden Age of Hollywood Actor, Montgomery Clift, who was the first to portray on film a more sensitive, vulnerable and rebellious leading man.  Montgomery Clift paved the way for such actors as Marlon Brando and James Dean, yet remains virtually unknown today.  This two part series will take a look at his acting beginnings, his acting style and provide information and clips of his 17 movies.  This is Part 1 of a two part series.  Please register for Part 1 with the intent of attending both sessions.  Part 2 will not have separate registration.

Wendy Whittick is President of the Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club and is passionate about movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood.  She also has a blog called Who is Montgomery Clift? and is currently researching to add blogs about actors Lee Marvin, Van Heflin and Raymond Massey.

The Librarian coordinating the event will email each registrant a Zoom meeting invitation approximately an hour before the start of the program.  Zoom is available as a free desktop (for Windows, MacOS, and Linux Operating systems) and mobile application for Android and Apple iOS devices. Once Zoom is installed, you will be able to join the virtual Library program.

Registration is required.  By registering for this event you have agreed to comply with the library's patron behavior policy. All non-compliant participants will be immediately and permanently blocked from further participation.  Because the Librarian facilitating the event will not be able to provide live technical support during the virtual program, it is strongly encouraged you familiarize yourself with Zoom in advance of the program. You can also contact the Library’s Virtual Reference Service for assistance learning Zoom.  You can also join a test meeting to familiarize yourself with Zoom.
