The Canterbury Tales (Virtual Program)

Join author and lecturer Abby Mendelson for a three-part discussion of Chaucer's Tales of the Caunterbury on July 16, 23 and 30 (register below for all lectures).

Geoffrey Chaucer's sense of language and story, his ability to create an entire world, has never been surpassed -- perhaps never equaled -- in English. As the first great English poet, his style, structure, and vision continue to affect how we read today. We will explore Chaucer’s medieval tapestry, a landscape full of the brave and bold, wise and foolish, holy and scabrous, saved and damned. Text: the classic modern translation, Theodore Morrison's Portable Chaucer.
