J.R. Roessl and the Art of Memoir
Join author J.R. Roessl, author of Unmoored: Coming of Age in Troubled Waters for short talk about the Art of Memoir: Using the Hero’s Journey to Create a Compelling and Transformative Narrative.
Roessl will outline the twelve steps used in most successful memoirs, based on Joseph Campbell's, The Hero with a Thousand Faces and Christopher Ogler’s The Writer’s Journey. Roessl will also talk briefly about her book and read two short passages, highlighting a few examples of the hero’s journey in Unmoored.
