Ticket Information

  • Ticket desks close 30 minutes before the Museum. Last entry at 4:30 pm.
  • General admission tickets are valid for the Museum’s entire operating hours on the given visit day. General admission does not include admission to special exhibitions that require a separate ticket.
  • Special exhibitions require a specific exhibition ticket with a timed-entry time slot for the gallery. If you’re unable to secure tickets in your cart for your entire party within one time slot, please choose a different time that can accommodate your entire group. Make sure to add any free youth tickets to your order at the same time as you add adult tickets.
  • Tickets are available for purchase in person (pending exhibition ticket availability) or in advance on mfa.org or by phone at 1-800-440-6975. $6 per-order processing fee applies to all phone orders.
  • General admission tickets do not include access to “Fabric of a Nation.”
  • Entry time slots are 30 minutes; visitors must enter the exhibition within that 30-minute window.
  • Once inside the exhibition, visitors may stay as long as they like
  • No re-entry into a special exhibition
  • Maximum ticket quantity per order of 9

Your safety is our highest priority. Be assured that the museum is observing safety measures:

Masks are required for all visitors (age 2+).

Beginning Thursday, January 6, proof of covid vaccination is also required (age 5+)*. Please be prepared to show your vaccination card and an ID.

Please stay home is you are feeling sick.
Please do not touch art, cases, or labels.

Timed tickets are no longer required and you can purchase Museum General Admission Tickets onsite.

*Visitors aged 5–11 must show proof that they have received at least one dose of a Pfizer vaccine.
All visitors aged 12–17 must show proof they have received two doses of a Pfizer vaccine.
All visitors aged 18 and older must also show proof they have received at least two doses of an accepted** vaccine AND a valid personal ID.

**Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. The WHO list also includes: Astra-Zeneca, COVAXIN, Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Noravax.

Ticket Information

  • Ticket desks close 30 minutes before the Museum. Last entry at 4:30 pm.
  • General admission tickets are valid for the Museum’s entire operating hours on the given visit day. General admission does not include admission to special exhibitions that require a separate ticket.
  • Special exhibitions require a specific exhibition ticket with a timed-entry time slot for the gallery. If you’re unable to secure tickets in your cart for your entire party within one time slot, please choose a different time that can accommodate your entire group. Make sure to add any free youth tickets to your order at the same time as you add adult tickets.
  • Tickets are available for purchase in person (pending exhibition ticket availability) or in advance on mfa.org or by phone at 1-800-440-6975. $6 per-order processing fee applies to all phone orders.
  • General admission tickets do not include access to “Fabric of a Nation.”
  • Entry time slots are 30 minutes; visitors must enter the exhibition within that 30-minute window.
  • Once inside the exhibition, visitors may stay as long as they like
  • No re-entry into a special exhibition
  • Maximum ticket quantity per order of 9

Please note: You are required to call VINS at 802-359-5000 ext 201 (10:00am - 4:00pm) to purchase discounted tickets over the phone once you have checked out the pass on the day of your visit. You will then need to show the pass when checking in at the Welcome Center upon arrival. 

$5.00 admission per person for up to 4 people;  children under 3 free.

A fee will be added to your account if you fail to pick up your reserved pass.The pass is valid for the date of reservation only and cannot be re-used. The VINS pass must be picked up the day before or day of use. Pick up the pass at the information desk at Howe Library. This pass is a laminated card in a bag that must be returned to the library the day that you use the pass. If the library is closed when you arrive back to the library to return the pass, you may drop the pass in one of the library's drop slots next to the library doors. This pass must be returned to Howe Library, not the Etna Library.
