Borrowing Rules

  • Hotspots circulate to Hanson residents 18 years or older for 14 days and are not eligible for renewal.
  • Hotspots are limited to one per household at any given time. Patrons may borrow one hotspot per 30 day period
  • There will be a charge of $1 for each day that a hotspot is overdue, with a maximum overdue fine of $20. Hotspots will be deactivated if not returned on time, and patrons will be charged the replacement fee of $150 if hotspots are not returned after 2 weeks from the due date.
  • Library staff reserve the right to revoke hotspot borrowing privileges where a patron has not followed this policy
  • Patrons are responsible for damage, loss or theft of hotspots or any of the accompanying materials. Severity of the damage will be solely determined by library staff and may result in a $150 replacement fee.
  • All hotspots must be returned inside the Hanson Public Library at the Circulation Desk during normal library hours. They may not be returned in the book drop or to any other library.

After receiving a library discount pass, you must reserve a visit online with Boston Children’s Museum. Due to safety measures, walk-ins are not allowed. Museum capacity is limited at this time.

  1. Patrons must first acquire a dated library discount pass.
  2. Then visit https://www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/ticketing
  3. Review the directions for timed tickets
  4. Click on the "Discount Programs" & drop down arrow
  5. Click on "Half Price Library Timed Ticket " to book
  6. NEW - Online reservations are required to visit PlaySpace.
  7. The date on the library discount pass must match the date of your visit.

2 for 1 ferry tickets to the Boston Harbor Islands national park areas. After booking this library pass, follow the instructions in your confirmation email to book a ferry reservation. The code can be used to purchase discounted tickets for the following:

Summer Schedule: June 20 – September 2

  • Boston to Spectacle Island: Monday through Friday
  • Boston to Georges Island: Monday through Friday
  • Hingham to Peddocks Island: Monday through Friday

Fall Schedule: September 5 – September 22

  • Boston to Georges Island: Thursday through Sunday

In an effort to encourage contact-less entry, discounted tickets for library patrons are now available directly through the Heritage Museums and Gardens website. You will need to book your pass reservation here, in order to receive the discount code.

  1. Click REQUEST PASS for the date you will visit the Gardens
  2. Once you have completed your pass reservation, you will receive a discount code.
  3. Go to heritagemuseumsandgardens.org/tickets and select Daily Admissions Tickets
  4. Select the day you would like to visit Heritage. Please note: this must be for the same day you reserved the pass from the library.
  5. Input the number of tickets and click Update Cart. Upon checkout, please enter the code provided by the library in the Discount Code box and click "Apply" to receive 50% off our general admission prices ($22 adult; $12 youth) for up to six individuals (adults and/or youth 3 - 17 years old). The JFK Museum no longer requires a library pass.

Present your physical or digital Massachusetts library card at the Admissions Desk to receive a 50% discount on the cardholder's admission ticket. NOTE: The Zoo is open on Providence School Holidays and Vacation Weeks. Library patrons can purchase tickets using the following steps (watch a video demonstration of it HERE).

  1. Navigate to the Ticket Purchasing Page on the zoo’s website: https://www.rwpzoo.org/tickets.
  2. Select the date and timeslot of their daytime general admission visit. Enter the proper quantities of adult, child, senior, and toddler tickets.
  3. Type in the supplied discount code. Click apply.
  4. Proceed to the next page (the discount will deduct your savings once you are on the next page)

After reserving the library's pass, you will receive a code that you must use to book timed tickets directly from the MFA. You do not need to bring the library pass to the Museum..

   

This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free. You do not need to call ahead to reserve a timed ticket. If you have questions or prefer to reserve in advance, you can call 617-723-2500 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily).

Passholders save $3 off the regular ticket price for up to four daytime zoo general admission tickets. ZOO HOURS: Open Thursday - Monday from 10 am - 4 pm. All tickets must be purchased online in advance. Time ticketing procedures are in place. NOTE: The Zoo is open on Providence School Holidays and Vacation Weeks. Library patrons can purchase tickets using the following steps (watch a video demonstration of it HERE).

  1. Navigate to the Ticket Purchasing Page on the zoo’s website: https://www.rwpzoo.org/tickets.
  2. Select the date and timeslot of their daytime general admission visit. Enter the proper quantities of adult, child, senior, and toddler tickets.
  3. Type in the supplied discount code. Click apply.
  4. Proceed to the next page (the discount will deduct your savings once you are on the next page)
  5. Complete the transaction with payment information, and then your e-tickets are emailed over shortly after purchase!

Please note there is limited availability during peak hours, so we recommend patrons purchase their tickets in advance. The discount can only be applied online, and the discount must be redeemed at time of purchase, the discount code cannot be retroactively applied. Please note that the ship and museum have different hours. Museum Hours: Open Daily; Winter Hours: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Summer Hours: 9:00AM - 6:00PM. The Museum closes for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, and closes early on Christmas Eve.
