MAP Passes to Museums, Attractions, and Parks

MAP Passes are available to Poughkeepsie Public Library District library card holders * who are 18 years of age or older, have a valid email address, and have no outstanding fines. *Passes to FDR Presidential Library & Museum are available to all Mid-Hudson Library System card holders.

Book up to two (2) passes on same day to combine visits to nearby venues. These may be local places or destinations on getaway trips to the Adirondacks, Albany, Berkshires, Boston, CT coastline, Danbury or Hartford, NYC, Springfield, and Vermont.

Always confirm hours and visiting information on destination’s website.

Failure to cancel a pass you do not use may result in suspension of pass privileges.

Pass Types: Printable passes, called Print on Demand. Physical passes, called Pick up/Return.

Print on Demand passes: Reserve for day of visit and marked “Closed” when Destination is closed. Always check their hours. Print pass when reserving at home or contact the Library to print it for you after reserving pass. Take the printed pass to entrance on specific date printed on the pass.

Pick Up/Return passes: Reserve for day of pick up and marked “Closed” when Library is closed. On holidays a venue may be open, but Library closed, so reserve a day early. Check out pass (inside pouch) for three (3) days including pick-up date, day to use pass, and day to return.

Library card barcode must match reservation at check-out.
Return to library branch where checked out, and you may use Book Drop to return.
A $5.00 per day fine if returned after due date (okay to use drop box after closing time).
If not returned within one week, pass is considered lost, and a replacement cost fined.

When Reserving: Reserve up to 60 days in advance. Under the date, find destination and request. You’ll need library card’s barcode. Follow the prompts. You’ll receive confirmation email and a reminder email 2 days before a reservation. You may add a Text reminder. For Print on Demand passes, select “Print Pass” to print from home and bring to destination on date printed on pass.

Cancelling a Pass Reservation: Use “My Passes” button by logging in with library card barcode, and clicking on pass to cancel, or call the Library. If reservation is in 24 hours or less, “My Passes” directs you to call the Library to cancel for you. Failure to cancel a pass, so that others may use it, may result in a suspension of reservation privileges.

Lakeview Cafe hours:10 AM - 4 PM. ADKX Store and Visitor Center 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Open daily Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day. 10 AM - 5 PM. Wheelchairs, wheeled walkers & strollers are available first come, first serve. Service animals are welcome. Dogs or emotional support animals are not permitted. As Internet in Adirondacks may be spotty, consider reserving and printing your Library Pass out in advance.

Visit Two Adirondack Destinations: The Wild Center & Adirondack Experience library passes may be reserved for the same day or weekend or week. 32 miles apart.

Admits: 2 adults and 2 children (under age 18). Library Pass holders do not need to register for timed advance tickets. Follow their Safety Guidelines, such as wearing facial masks, whether vaccinated or not, and social distancing, posted on their website, under Visit. The museum cafe is temporarily closed. Museum is wheelchair accessible, and strollers and wheelchairs are available at the Admissions Desk.

Admits: The pass-holder and four adults, for a total of five guests (plus children 12 and under free) with Library Pass with an encouraged free Ticket Reservation made in advance on their website under "Visit." Click on either "Purchase Tickets" or "Timed-entry tickets or reservations encouraged." Select Date, Ticket Type "Member/**Free/Child" for free admission, and enter Quantity. Enter your contact information, and click on the "Continue to Payment" button at No Charge, and then click on "Complete Order." They will accept the printed library pass or digital display of pass on your mobile phone, using "View Pass Info" link in your emailed confirmation or text reminder. Masks are optional. 15% discount museum store w/ pass. Free parking, elevator, strollers permitted, no cafe, and coat check is closed. Restrictions: If event taking place that is included in price of admission, library pass users may attend free of change. The Library Pass is not eligible for special events that requires non-members to pay a fee or for member-only events. Hours: Sat.10 am -5 pm; Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri. 12-5. pm.

Admits: Four (4) people for free admission when present the Library Pass at Box Office. They accept either the Printed Pass or a Digital Display on your mobile phone. Library Pass Holders do not need a timed-entry reservation. If group size is larger than four, you may purchase additional admissions at the Box Office or online: Adults (16-64) $28; Srs. (65+) $23; Youth (5-15) $19; Children (under 5) free. See website for Covid-19 protocols and saftey measures, including for wearing a facial mask, social distancing, using a complimentary stylus pen they give you for touch screen exhibits, and one-way walking in galleries. Pass is not valid for special events. Check their calendar to avoid or plan around any closing of exhibits due to special events held on the day of your visit. Open 10 AM – 4 PM, except some seasonal Winter Mondays and 3 holidays.

Restrictions: Backpacks and large bags are not allowed in museum unless needed for a medical reason. Food or beverages may only be consumed on the public concourse or any of the on-site restaurants, but are not allowed in the museum’s exhibits. To shoot hoops on Center Court (if available), must be wearing appropriate footwear, and staff will provide your group with a sanitized basketball.

BHOF accepts Both a Printed Pass OR Digital Pass displayed on a mobile phone. Print pass when reservation is made with Print Button, or save as PDF. Season 2023: April 29 - Oct. 31. Harvest Festival is Oct. 7 & 8, tickets only. Tuesdays and Oct 10 - 31 are Free.

Admits: Four (4) Adults for free, with children ages 12 and under free, from April 29 – Oct 6, 2023, for the date of your Library MAP Pass reservation. Tuesdays and Oct. 10-31 is Free or Pay as You Wish. Present the Library Pass at the Garden Shop when you arrive and stay as long as you want. Admission includes gardens, art in the galleries and grounds, self guided audio tour, a free group tour at 11:00 AM each day June 1st - Sept. 1st (departs Visitor Center), and use of buildings and bathrooms. Garden is generally wheelchair friendly, see website for more info. Reserve a wheelchair by calling (413) 320 – 4794. Leonhardt Galleries Hours, see webiste as varies with season in Winter. Events are all year long, see website for information.

Restrictions: No smoking on grounds. Garden shop has snacks, beverages, and gifts. Picnics are permitted with carry in-carry out policy. Harvest Festival is Sat. & Sun, Oct. 7 & 8, and requires ticket purchase. Special events held all year may require tickets, some are free. Dogs not permitted except for registered service animals.

They accept walk-ins and recommend an Advanced Reservation made by calling (413) 443-7171, ext. 360 to arrange a “Library Pass Reservation” for date and time OR use their website's online Reservation Tickets to select date, time, and enter number of Library Pass Adults and Library Pass Children. Covid19 Policy requires facial masks for everyone 2 and over, and social distancing. Museum is fully wheelchair accessible. Open seven days a week, M-Sat 10am - 5pm, and Sun Noon-5pm. See below that accept both the Library Pass printed OR digital display on a mobile phone using View Pass Info link in your emailed reservation confirmation or text reminder.

Admits: One adult plus 3 guests of any age (under age 4 is free), with a Timed-Entry Reservation (instructions below) for the Guided House Tour (45 minutes), and includes gardens, grounds and exhibitions. Also, walk-in sign up for Mansion Tours at Welcome Center depending on availability, or walk-in sign up for Grounds Pass Only. To reserve your date and tour time in advance on Boscobel's website using library member code, and rreserve before 5 pm the day before your visiting day: 1. Reserve PPLD Library MAP Pass for date of visit (Friiday - Monday). 2. Go to the Boscobel website, under to Visit or Event, and select Mansion Tour (or Grounds Only) for the same Date as Library Pass and select Tour Time. 3.Online Form, with several parts. On first form page enter the number of ticket types (pass includes 4) and under Library Pass Users, enter our library name Poughkeepsie Public Library District. 4. On second form page, the cost will be removed AFTER you enter our Promo Code in the Box and Apply it, and wait fo response. Our Code is MEMLIB21. Pass allows 4 guests (any age with under 4 free). 5. Complete the other parts of the Form, and when go to Check Out, will take you to Pop Up Payment Box. They will send you an eTicket you can display on your mobile phone at the Welcome Center. Hours: 9 am to sunset for grounds, Fri - Mon.

Admits: 2 Adults and 2 Children. Children under 5 are free. For a guided tour, reserve the MAP pass, make a REQUIRED Tour Reservation on the Bronck Museum website at Schedule a Tour for the same date, and check-out the reserved Bronck MAP Pass from the Adriance Reference Desk. The 1 hour guided tours are Wed.- Fri. (12 PM, 1:30 PM, and 3 PM); Sat (10:30 AM, 12 PM, 1:30 PM, 3 PM) and most Sundays (1 PM and 2:30 PM). A picnic area and restrooms are available. Masks and social distancing is required. At the Reservation calendar, fill in the “Quantity” for your group, click on the same date of reserved MAP Pass to select a tour time for your group size, and complete the reservation. Restrictions: Library Pass is not valid for special ticketed events which require a ticket purchase. See website for special events planned.

Open: Wednesday - Sundays starting Memorial Day weekend and usually ending mid-October, Columbus Day. Also open for special events all year.

Closed: Mondays, Tuesdays, Memorial Day, July 4th, Columbus Day, Labor Day, and usually after Columbus Day to Memorial Day weekend seasonal re-opening.

Re-opened March 2022 under new management (not part of NECM & Museum of Fire History since 2021). Rides $2 each. Hours are Friday 4:00-8:00 pm; Sat. & Sun 12:00-5:00 pm. Library membership not yet available.

Admits: Four people for free admission and unlimited rides on The Bushnell Park Carousel (Hartford, CT) and to the New England Carousel Museum (includes carousel rides) and Museum of Fire History (both Bristol, CT - address below). The 1914 vintage carousel has 48 hand carved wooden horses and two chariots that swirl around a booming Wurlitzer band organ and is housed in a 24 sided pavilion.

Hours: Bushnell Park Carousel only: January: Sat. & Sun, 11 – 5 PM; February & March closed; April – June: Sat. & Sun, 11 – 5 PM; July – August: Wed – Sun, 11 – 5 PM; Sept – Nov: Sat. & Sun, 11 – 5 PM; Dec.: Wed – Sun 11 – 5 PM. Closed: Bushnell Park Carousel only: January, M-F. All February & March. April – June, M-F. July-August, Monday & Tuesday. Sept – Nov, M-F, and Dec. Monday & Tuesday. Christmas Day & New Year’s Day. Admits: Two (2) free Admissions, plus children under 13 are always free with a recommended Timed-Entry Tour Reservation Booking on their website for the date of the library pass, then selecting a Guided or Self Guided Studio Tour or a Grounds Pass, and selecting the Time and entering Promo Code in caps: POUGHPASS at checkout for each of two passes that pop up below at no charge (free may be applied to adult, youth, senior or military tickets). Enter children (under 13 free) or additional ticket purchases. Arrive 30 minutes early to park, check-in, use restrooms, and walk to Studio for tour. Show your PPLD library card, your library pass reservation (either printed or displayed on a mobile device from your emailed MAP pass confirmation or text reminder under View Pass Info), and your online timed-entry reservation at Admissions. Walk-in requests for tours depend on availability. Masks are optional. The French Residence is closed for renovations and will reopen in 2024.

Grounds Only Pass: Enjoy the stunning Berkshire mountain views, formal gardens, Woodland Walk, climb the Ledges Trail, and picnic on tables in the former apple orchard. The outdoor contemporary sculpture exhibition opens May 27th. The Grounds Only ticket does not allow entry into the Studio or permanent collections at the Barn Gallery.

Restrictions: Admissions sells bottled water, but no food. You may bring a picnic. The Library Pass covers standard admission only. Do not park on lawn or driveway.

Hours: Open Wednesdays – Mondays, 10 AM – 5 PM, May 20 - Oct. 23, 2023. Chesterwood reopens in May, 2024.

Admits: Free general admission for 6 people. Children under 3 are free. Masks sre not required, but recommended in the museum, and aboard the trains. Open Sat. & Sun. only, 10 AM – 4 PM. Some areas have capacity limits. Not valid for free admission if special events, then $1 off per person in group. See website for special events & price. Trains are not wheelchair accessible due to age. Train rides inofrmation on website for April-Septl, and varies for Oct. and Dec. Water fountains and interactive exhibits are closed. Model train layouts now have foot pedal controls, and not push button controls. See all COVID-19 Protocols on their website, here.

Restrictions: Not valid for free admission on days there are special events at a special price. On special event days, the pass holder will receive $1 off Event Admission for each member in their party. Water fountains and interactive exhibits are closed.

Admits: Two (2) Adult tickets at discounted price of $15.00 each with PPLD Library Card OR Two (2) $ 5.00 Student tickets for (must show PPLD Library Card and current Student ID) OR a combination of 1 Adult ($15.00) and 1 Student ticket ($5.00).

Instructions: Confirm show schedule prior to reserving through our MAP Pass system. From MAP Pass reservation system, select your date and process your MAP Pass reservation as normal, then call the Theatre Box Office to Reserve Your Tickets for Date and Time of Performance. Reservations for these discounted tickets must be made prior to arrival by calling the Box Office at: (845) 303-4136. Check in at Box Office at least 30 min. prior to performance (You will need to show your PPLD Library Card. No printed tickets/MAP Pass are required from the Theater). Seating is available 30 minutes prior to showtime. All seating is OPEN SEATING. Out of respect to audience, once the performance has begun, there is NO LATE SEATING.

Box Office Hours: Wednesday through Saturday: Noon – 5:00 PM and an hour prior to performances, Wed – Sat, open at 7:00 PM; Sundays, open Noon – 2:00 PM. Showtimes are Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.

Admits: Valid for the pass holder and their occupants in one vehicle. The Empire Pass is valid at most New York State Parks. For questions on fees, you may contact the park directly. PPLD has six Empire Passes available. If a pass is unavailable, park entrance fees are 6 and $10 per vehicle. Multiple Destinations

Admits: 2 adults and 4 children (ages 1–18), and children under 1 year are free. Present the PPLD Library Pass at check-in. Follow Visitor Guidelines on their website for any requirements or updates regarding masks optional. In addition to seven exhibitions each year, they offer Art Studio Everyday Projects and provide materials, and several short film screenings daily of animated new and classic picture books or family documentaries about picture book illustrators. They also have daily storytimes, a 6,000+ picture book reading library, and offer performances and events. They do not have a restaurant, but they have a cafe with Berkshire Naturals vending machines stocked with healthy snacks, water fountain, and they allow you to bring in food at their cafe or picnic areas. There is a nearby market for picnic supplies, Atkins Farms Country Market.

Admits: 2 adults and 2 children (age 3-17), children 2 and under are free. You may walk-in with the PPLD FASNY Pick Up/Return Pass you check out from Adriance Library. Additional tickets $10 adults, and $5 children. Covid policies are: Masks are not required if vaccinated; Masks are required for all, except age 2 if you are not vaccinated. This includes all children ages 3 - 11 must wear a mask, as they cannot be vaccinated. Museum Policies is here, including no large bags 14 inches, no food, no beverages. Museum is handicapped accessible. Interactive equipment for all ages is now available. Guided tours are pre-arranged for groups of 10 or more, at least 3 weeks in advance, for a fee. Description: The Museum’s collection of over 20,000 artifacts, including 60 vintage fire engines, tells the story of firefighting and firefighters, spanning more than 300 years of history and firefighting heroes. Explore collections online here, and selected exhibitions here.

Hours: Wednesday – Sundays, 10 AM – 4:30 PM, with Gift Shop open until 5:00 PM. Open on Labor Day, but closed most holidays.

Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays, and Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day. They are open on Labor Day.

Eligible for All Mid-Hudson Library System Library Card Holders

Admits: A family, defined as up to 5 people, to enter for the Roosevelt Presidential Museum and Library ONLY if you print the pass using the button Print FDR Pass at top of pass reservation to print the FDR's Public Library Guest Pass when either making the pass reservation OR from your emailed pass confirmation by clicking on “VIEW PASS INFO." Complete filling out pass for same date as the pass reservation. Surrender the pass at the ticket counter of the Wallace Visitor Center, and the pass bearer must show an ID. Masks are required indoors.

Printing Assistance: Please call or come to Adriance Memorial Library’s Reference Desk (Floor M) to request the FDR Pass to be printed after making your reservation for your date of visit. Reference Desk: (845) 485-3445 x 3702.

Open: Seven days a week, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During winter weather, check the FDR website for delays.

Fall Wee Faerie Village October Event: Held annually during October, all visitors age 12 and over, including those with a Library Pass, pay a $5 fee, or surcharge, for the fund-raising exhibit, whether viewing the faerie houses or not. Children 12 and under admitted free, due to grant.

Hours: Open Tuesdays – Sunday, 10 AM - 5 PM, April - December, and 10 AM - 4 PM, January - March. Last entry is one hour before closing. Cafe Flo hours 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM, May - October.

Twenty historic buildings on 750 bucolic acres, including the iconic Round Stone Barn, Visitor Center, 22,000 objects, working farm, BB's Hot Spot is the new cafe 2023, Shaker Mercantile store on-site & online, and hiking trails.

Restrictions: As this is a working farm, no pets are allowed on the grounds. Service dogs welcomed. No tripods in historic buildings. Commercial photography requires advance permission.

Accessibility: Wheelchair use is free and reserved by calling 413-443-0188 x 100. The Visitor Center, restrooms, galleries, store, cafe, and all meeting spaces are wheelchair accessible. Compact-dirt pathways and boardwalks throughout the Village provide access to the gardens and grounds, as well as the mile-long Farm & Forest Trail, which has interpretive signage. Some historic buildings are wheelchair accessible via ramp, including the Round Stone Barn and the Trustees’ Office & Store. Keep in mind, however, that most buildings in the historic Village are NOT wheelchair accessible.

Guided Mansion Tours weekends May-Oct with Library Pass. Gardens & Grounds & Visitor Center open in April, 10 am -5 pm, and no library pass is needed.

Admits: 2 adults and up to 4 children, 18 years and under, to Guided Mansion Tours. Display your printed PPLD Locust Grove Pass at the Museum Gift Shop in the Visitor Center to check-in. If your family is larger than what the pass admits, admission is $15 per person. Masks must be worn inside buildings and when you cannot socially distance outdoors. Log House Tours (during reconstruction project) with Required Advance Reservations you book on their website as Members for 2 Adults and all Children under 18. Currently, Saturday tours only during reconstruction.

Admits: Two adults and all children up to age 18 in a household for guided Log Home Tour if the interior, with REQUIRED Tour Reservations you book on their website for date of Library Pass. On their website, select Visit, and select Log House Tours. Next, select date from calendar (green square), select a time (12 pm or 3 pm) and enter number in group under Members for 2 adults and children under 18. During construction, pre-registered tour attendees will arrive 10-15 minutes before the tour and gather at the ground level of the Education Center, near seating and public restrooms. Public Indoor Log House Tours, during reconstruction, are by appointment only. Log House tours are 1 hour, on Saturdays at 12 pm and 3 pm. . On Thomas Cole website, book a Timed-Entry Ticket for same date as Library Pass, select the hour, enter up to two (2) “Member” tickets (age 16+) for free and enter number of "Children" age 15 and under for free. To ensure entry, arrive 15 minutes early to Visitor Center to check in with Library Pass (printed or digital display on mobile phone). Do not be late, or may forfeit reservation. You may arrive either 60 minutes before or after your reservation, as noted on their website, and stay as long as you wish. Your PPLD library pass will be your admission ticket. If your group is larger than the pass admits limit, note that admission cost is collected when you arrive for people not included in the Library Pass. Museum and Ship are run separately & hours & entrance requirements vary. Check each website for Museum or Ship for hours or closures.

Admits: Free admission to the Museum for parties of 9 or fewer with the Library Pass. A state or federal government issued photo I.D. is required for people 18 and older in your group during the entrance security check. There are no advanced tickets or reservations required for entry. Nature Museum open Tues.-Sun. Grounds & Trails open 24/7. Trail Maps to 40 miles of trails on website, includes the largest lake in CT. Picnic areas available.

Admits: Entry to Nature Museum for 2 adults and up to 4 children (12 and under). There is free access to the 40 miles of trails within the 4,000 acres of the White Memorial Foundation that include the Education Center grounds, forests, 60 miles of Bantam Lake's shoreline, boat launch, swimming areas, river, wetlands, and ponds. Trail maps on website. Nature Museum is open Tues. - Sun. Hours will vary. Winter: Tues - Sat. 10 am to 4:30 pm, and starting April 1st: 9 am - 5 pm. Sturdy shoes and dressing for the weather are recommended. Library Pass is not good for museum shop discount. Open rain or shine, and hours vary seasonally.
