MAP Passes to Museums, Attractions, and Parks

MAP Passes are available to Poughkeepsie Public Library District library card holders * who are 18 years of age or older, have a valid email address, and have no outstanding fines. *Passes to FDR Presidential Library & Museum are available to all Mid-Hudson Library System card holders.

Book up to two (2) passes on same day to combine visits to nearby venues.  These may be local places or destinations on getaway trips to the Adirondacks, Albany, Berkshires, Boston, CT coastline, Danbury or Hartford, NYC, Springfield, and Vermont.

Always confirm hours and visiting information on destination’s website.

Failure to cancel a pass you do not use may result in suspension of pass privileges.

Pass Types: Printable passes, called Print on Demand. Physical passes, called Pick up/Return.

Print on Demand passes: Reserve for day of visit and marked “Closed” when Destination is closed. Always check their hours. Print pass when reserving at home or contact the Library to print it for you after reserving pass. Take the printed pass to entrance on specific date printed on the pass.

Pick Up/Return passes: Reserve for day of pick up and marked “Closed” when Library is closed. On holidays a venue may be open, but Library closed, so reserve a day early. Check out pass (inside pouch) for three (3) days including pick-up date, day to use pass, and day to return.

  • Library card barcode must match reservation at check-out.
  • Return to library branch where checked out, and you may use Book Drop to return.
  • A $5.00 per day fine if returned after due date (okay to use drop box after closing time).
  • If not returned within one week, pass is considered lost, and a replacement cost fined.

When Reserving: Reserve up to 60 days in advance. Under the date, find destination and request. You’ll need library card’s barcode. Follow the prompts. You’ll receive confirmation email and a reminder email 2 days before a reservation. You may add a Text reminder. For Print on Demand passes, select “Print Pass” to print from home and bring to destination on date printed on pass.

Cancelling a Pass Reservation: Use “My Passes” button by logging in with library card barcode, and clicking on pass to cancel, or call the Library. If reservation is in 24 hours or less, “My Passes” directs you to call the Library to cancel for you. Failure to cancel a pass, so that others may use it, may result in a suspension of reservation privileges.

In late April, 2022, Boscobel re-opened the Mansion to Guided House Tours. 

Admits: One adult plus 3 guests of any age (under age 4 is free), with a Timed-Entry Reservation for the Guided House Tour (1 hour) or Guided Grounds Tour (1 hr) made in advance on Boscobel's website using library member code. Grounds & Gardens entry doesn't require advance reservations. All reservations include access to the gardens, grounds and woodland trails. Reserve library pass, and go to the Boscobel website, under Events, scroll down to Tours, and select guided tour type (House or Grounds) or Gardens & Grounds admission.  Start the free Required Ticketing process to reserve in advance (they do fill up; 4 tours per day limited to six people), and before 5 pm the day before House Tours.  Select the date of library pass reservation for a Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, and select a tour time (10 am, 12 pm, 12:30 pm, or 2:30 pm).  To get free admission, enter the code for Library Pass Members (noted on website) as MEMLIB21 for all member libraries to use. Pass allows 4 guests (any age with under 4 free), and vaccination and masks required for house tours, but not outdoor grounds.  Similar ticketing for other tour types. Hours: 9 am to sunset for grounds, Fri - Mon.
