After receiving a library discount pass, you must reserve a visit online with Boston Children’s Museum. Due to safety measures, walk-ins are not allowed. Museum capacity is limited at this time.

  1. Patrons must first acquire a dated library discount pass.
  2. Then visit https://www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/ticketing
  3. Review the directions for timed tickets
  4. Click on the "Discount Programs" & drop down arrow
  5. Click on "Half Price Library Timed Ticket " to book
  6. NEW - Online reservations are required to visit PlaySpace.
  7. The date on the library discount pass must match the date of your visit.
  8. After arriving at the Museum, proceed to the admissions scanning station with your online reservation and the date specific library discount pass. If you have questions about the online ordering system, contact Orders@BostonChildrensMuseum.org.

Pass offers library cardholders the opportunity to purchase two-for-one ferry tickets for up to four people using a unique discount code. The discount code can be used to purchase tickets exclusively at:

Spring Schedule: May 20 – June 11

  • Boston to Georges Island: Thursday through Sunday

Summer Schedule: June 15 – September 4

  • Boston to Spectacle Island: Monday through Friday

  • Boston to Georges Island: Monday through Friday 

Fall Schedule: September 7 – October 9

  • Boston to Spectacle Island: Friday through Sunday

These are not physical passes, but a discount code you must use online to book your own tickets. The code can be provided by phone from the Circulation Desk.  Please contact us at 781-878-1236 x1.

Pass must be returned to Library. The library charges a $5.00 per day late fee and $60.00 replacement fee if lost.

If redeeming in person, you must provide the MFA with the email you receive with the promo code at the ticket window.

The Museum is open Wednesday – Monday, 10am – 5pm. Visit mfa.org for information about health, safety, and what’s on view.

   

This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free. You do not need to call ahead to reserve a timed ticket. If you have questions or prefer to reserve in advance, you can call 617-723-2500 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily).

2. Please bring your library pass confirmation when you visit.
3. Stop at the Box Office when you arrive at the Museum to exchange your library pass and purchase your Exhibit Halls passes at the discounted rate.
4. If you are not able to show your Library confirmation on a phone, please request a paper copy of your confirmation at the library.
