This presentation, Boosting Executive Function Skills for a Successful School Year will explore the importance of executive function skills and provide some practical strategies for students and parents to foster their development.
Presenter Info: Jessica Lynch M.Ed Senior Executive Functioning Coach
Jessica has a passion for helping others develop the skills that they need to succeed in school and in life! She earned a Master’s in Education from California University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Jessica spent the majority of her career in mental health working with adolescents and young adults with ADHD and autism. She spent 10 years in the classroom helping students stay organized and guiding them to hit their academic goals by helping them create a toolbox of skills to assist them. After leaving the classroom, Jessica began working with adults primarily focusing on goal setting and goal planning, time management, and organizational skills. Her strength is helping others recognize their strengths and teaching them how to use those strengths to successfully build organizational skills and daily life management skills.

This nine week program covers the benefits of exercise, nutrition, emotional support and medical management, and will help you bridge the gap between cancer treatment and life after cancer. Each class offers 30 minutes of exercise, dinner and a presentation from experts.

Located on our Lower Level, we have a 3D printer, a Cricut vinyl cutting machine, a Brother sewing and embroidery machine, and a music station with midi keyboards, a microphone, and recording software! We also have art and crafts supplies, Snap Circuits, VR goggles, a button maker, two Makey Makey keyboard controllers, and more.
During our open hours, the Makerspace will be open to the public and librarians will be on hand to supervise, answer questions, and offer arts and crafts supplies available so you can get creative. No registration required, just stop by.

When newly-divorced Ivy Perkins buys an old farmhouse sight unseen, she is definitely looking for a change in her life. The Four Roses, as the farmhouse is called, is a labor of love―but Ivy didn't bargain on just how much labor. The previous family left so much furniture and so much junk, that it's a full-time job sorting through all of it.
At the top of a closet, Ivy finds an old Santa suit―beautifully made and decades old. In the pocket of a suit she finds a note written in a childish it's from a little girl who has one Christmas wish, and that is for her father to return home from the war. This discovery sets Ivy off on a mission. Who wrote the note? Did the man ever come home? What mysteries did the Rose family hold?
Ivy's quest brings her into the community, at a time when all she wanted to do was be left alone and nurse her wounds. But the magic of Christmas makes miracles happen, and Ivy just might find more than she ever thought a welcoming town, a family reunited, a mystery solved, and a second chance at love.
