Welcome to Tales & Tails, Hampton Community Library’s Summer Reading Program.  Whether you are traveling, going out in public or chilling at home, we have something for everyone.  Just imagine the possibilities:

Summer Programming for South Fayette and Bridgeville Libraries begins Monday June 14th and ends Saturday August 7th.  Registration for Summer Programming will begin June 1st.

Programming kits for different age levels will be available for pick-up at the library. Kits will be released starting June 14th, July 5th, and August 2nd. Both South Fayette Township library and Bridgeville Public library will offer the same kits in a limited quantity. 

This summer we are planning to offer a mix of Virtual and In-person programming combined with safe practices. Social distancing will continue to be required at all in-person programming until further notice. Masks are required for indoor programming until further notice.

Reading Colors Your World Summer Reading Program : [ BALDWIN ]
The Baldwin Borough Public Library welcomes everyone to participate in our 2021 Summer Reading Program, which is available for children (birth-Grade 5), teens (Grades 6-12) and Adults (ages 18+). Registration begins Monday, June 14 either in-person at the library or online via Beanstack. Participants will earn raffle tickets for reading, attending programs and completing activities throughout the summer for chances to win end-of-summer gift cards and prizes. Children and teens will also earn milestone incentive coupons to establishments such as Rita's Italian Ice, Princess Lanes and Millie's Ice Cream as well as have an opportunity to earn a free book of their choice. 
 
We will also have a full lineup of programs for all ages including outdoor early literacy, family gardening, family cooking, family reading and arts and crafts programs as well as special programs from Carnegie Science Center and Allegheny County Parks. Teens can enjoy yoga, creative writing, paint nights and arts and crafts kits while adult programs include a walking club, tech Tuesdays, book clubs and a special art night.

We are excited to announce that Robinson Twp.Library is resuming its Wise Walk Program for adults.

We will begin our walk on April 28th  at the Montour Trail  entrance off Beaver Grade Rd. by Brothers Grimm.

We will contiinue every Wednesday until October 20th.

In the event of rain anyone wishing to walk the Mall at Robinson may do so, however you will not be able to walk until 10:00.

This event is intended for ALL ages.  This event will occur at the Scott Township Municipal Building.  Vendors are required to register in advance.  Visitors are not required to register.  Join us for arts, crafts, Food Truck, 50/50, Craft Raffle and more.  *This event benefits the Scott Township Public Library.

Artist/Crafter Information:

1. This craft fair specializes in handmade wares.

2. Rental space is ONE 6’ table and chair per artist/crafter.

3. Table location is based on a first come, first served basis at set up. We are unable to grant special requests. If electricity is required, please bring an extension cord. Please refrain from hanging or taping anything on the walls.

4. The Library is not able to process refunds. Please have your non-refundable check mailed before August 16, 2021.

5. Set-up time is Saturday, September 25th from 8:30 a.m.- 9:45 a.m. Please move your car to off-street parking after set-up.

6. Out of courtesy to our customers, artists/crafters should plan to be there for the duration of the event (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) and please take what you bring; do not leave unsold items, empty boxes or trash. Vendors must be cleaned up by 3 p.m.

7. No unlawful merchandise or perishable food can be sold.

8. Please bring change. There is no ATM on site. Wi-fi is accessible with your library card.

Northland has partnered with Queens Gambit to present and lead a chess course for students. Instruction provided by the Queens Gambit Chess Institute This class builds on skills learned in the Beginner’s Chess Class. We expand our thinking from the basics of chess to learning, developing, and implementing strategies to improve our game. Students are introduced to grandmasters and their games as well as opportunities and tips for competing in tournaments and competitions. We also learn how to notate and use clocks in our games.

Virtual Great Courses Discussion : [ MTLEB ]

Please join librarian Laurie Schultz for discussions on the Great Courses. Most courses are available on DVD through the library system, or on Kanopy. Kanopy is available to Mt. Lebanon Library card holders. Registration is for the year. Feel free to join at any time.  

Beginning August 5th, we will be discussing 30 Masterpieces of the Ancient World (https://mtlebanon.kanopy.com/product/30-masterpieces-ancient-world-series). We will discuss 3 lectures per week. 

The Virtual Great Courses Discussions will be conducted via the free video conferencing software Zoom and a Library staff member will be supervising the session.  The Librarian coordinating the event will email each registrant a Zoom meeting invitation before the start of the program.  Zoom is available as a free desktop (for Windows, MacOS, and Linux Operating systems) and mobile application for Android and Apple iOS devices. Once Zoom is installed, you will be able to join the virtual Library program.

Registration is required.  By registering for this event you have agreed to comply with the library's patron behavior policy. All non-compliant participants will be immediately and permanently blocked from further participation.  Because the Librarian facilitating the event will not be able to provide live technical support during the virtual program, it is strongly encouraged you familiarize yourself with Zoom in advance of the program. Bring your beach blanket and your baby (ages 0-2) to our outdoor morning storytime featuring stories, fun and engaging songs, rhymes, music and bubbles to conclude our program!
