The Historical Book Discussion Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. Books are selected on topics of American History from pre-Revolutionary War to present time including biographies, non-fiction and classics. Copies of the selections are available at the Circulation Desk the month prior to the discussion.

Outdoor enthusiast John Lynn is back to share pictures and stories of his hiking trip to Wales.

Explore entertainment options beyond paying for cable. In class we will discuss how to connect your TV or other devices to streaming services, what options are out there to replace or improve on current service, and how to determine what’s right for you.

The Monday Night Page Turners book discussion group meets on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m., except in July, August, and December. The group reads contemporary and classic fiction and nonfiction. Copies of the books are available at the Circulation Desk. In-Person Event (Outdoors/Makerspace)


Join us for an evening of traditional storytelling. The program will begin with shorter, simpler stories appropriate for young children and will move to longer, more complicated stories for older listeners. Registration begins June 20th at 9:00am.

In this online program, we will cover handling image-editing basics using paint.NET, a free photo-editing program available for Windows. Utilizing paint.NET’s tools we will crop, rotate, and adjust many qualities of an image. The video will go live on 07/18/2022 07:00 PM and available to view any time after.

Cloud tools offer more and more opportunities for computer users. One of the most versatile resources is cloud storage. Students will learn about the many options available to either work collaboratively with other people, keep resources available to themselves anywhere in the world, and/or provide a safety net in case of computer failure. Google’s free applications will be used in class but alternatives will also be discussed.

Come learn about our new virtual reality kits! We will also have resources on how to make your own VR headset and access online VR videos. Registration begins June 20th at 9:00am

Genealogy Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month (except in December) from 6:30 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. A Local History librarian provides internet and archival genealogy instruction and research support. Members share ideas and meet other researchers, receive help with research questions and brick wall dilemmas, and share genealogy finds. Use of the genealogy collection in the Local History Department and individual help and instruction is also available.
