Connecticut Newspapers: A Story Still Unfolding

Would the term Headlines mean anything without the invention of newspapers?  What about the Sunday comics or any other specialty information columns? It’s hard to imagine life without newspapers – even with the internet.  John Cilio shares the history of the concept of  'newspaper' and how it evolved to becoming the dominant communication media format. The struggles its publishers & editors have tackled over the centuries, like government censorship, along with the competition of radio, television and the internet.  Are we seeing the end of an era?.....the story is still unfolding. To whet your appetite, click on this 90 second trailer for the program to come: CT Newspapers trailer

This program is thanks to generous funding from The Friends of the C. H. Booth Library
LOCATION: Virtual Meeting Space 1
