Kids Comics Club

Join us for a lively discussion of  Kat Fajardo's Miss Quinces, followed by a fun related activity.

"Sue just wants to spend the summer reading and making comics at sleepaway camp with her friends, but instead she gets stuck going to Honduras to visit relatives with her parents and two sisters. They live way out in the country, which means no texting, no cable, and no Internet! The trip takes a turn for the worse when Sue's mother announces that they'll be having a surprise quinceañera for Sue, which is the last thing she wants. She can't imagine wearing a big, floofy, colorful dress! What is Sue going to do? And how will she survive all this "quality" time with her rambunctious family?"

This program will be in-person. For ages 8 - 10.  A print copy of the book will be available for pick two weeks before the program, registration required.

The library is very pleased to work with Therapy Dogs of Rockland, which brings the R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program to our community! By employing a powerful method: reading to a dog, children will gain more confidence and improve their reading skills. For ages 5 - 11, registration is required.

Cash, a gentle and loving black lab will be our reading pal! Either bring your favorite book to read to her or ask the librarian to select one for you!

Each session is 15-minute long and one-on-one based with the R.E.A.D team and a librarian.

Permission slip must be signed by a parent/guardian before the session starts.
