Join us for stories, songs, music, and yoga at the Fall 2022 Mother Goose Stoytime on the Reading Patio, weather permitting.

This month, we will discuss Alison Kaylin's 2012 novel of suspense, And She Was.  This is the first of three books featuring protagonist Brenna Spector.  Brenna is a missing persons investigator afflicted with Hyperthymestic Syndrome, a rare disorder that enables her to remember every moment of every day of her life.  In this book, she's on the trail of a missing child who vanished more than a decade ago.  The book is available at the library and as an e-book on both Hoopla and Overdrive/Libby.  Participants can attend this meeting in the library or attend via ZOOM.  Please register to receive a zoom link.

Reading level is Grades K-2. Stories will appeal to ages 4 - 7. Pre-K and Kindergarten students must be accompanied by parent.

The library is very pleased to work with Therapy Dogs of Rockland, which brings the R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program to our community! By employing a powerful method: reading to a dog, children will gain more confidence and improve their reading skills. For ages 5 - 11, registration is required.

Edward Hopper with Sue Altman
Edward Hopper exhibit at the Whitney Museum! Beginning October 19th through March 5th, this comprehensive exhibit will feature Edward Hopper's depictions of New York City based on his six decades as a resident here.. He was an astute observer of the many changes that took place during this period. This talk will discuss many of the paintings in the exhibit as well as his origins in Nyack NY and later work in Cape Cod and other locales. Registration required.

Olive and her adopted siblings Charlotte and Darwin are spending the summer with their estranged grandma at her creepy hotel and it’s all work and no play. They’re stuck inside doing boring chores but they soon stumble upon an incredible secret... Behind each room door of the hotel lies a portal to a different strange and mysterious place. The simple turn of a knob transports them to a distant magical world filled with space pirates. Behind the next door are bearded wizards. Down the hall is a doorway to a cotton-candied kingdom. But once the doors are opened, worlds start colliding, and only one family can save them before they tear themselves apart.
