Pathways for Parents CFCE presents Newbies at the East Longmeadow Public Library. Participants in this group will receive developmental milestone information, ways to engage in floor time play, resources, and opportunities to connect to other caregivers of children this age. 

Newbies is targeted for ages birth-15 months old.

This program is sponsored by Pathways for Parents. Pathways for Parents is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

The Massachusetts Library Collaborative's 50+ Job Seekers Group meets via Zoom. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your "Encore Career", this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking!

Join us in a professional forum for networking with peers in a safe and comfortable environment conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition. Each meeting features a new topic. Meetings include a presentation and hands-on workshop on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and 1-on-1 coaching guidance. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search.

Each biweekly meeting is facilitated by Deborah Hope, MBA, PCIC, an experienced executive career coach. Deborah is a former Fortune 500 executive, investment banker and entrepreneur and transitioned to executive coaching over 12 years ago. She has coached with Harvard Business School Executive Education programs, the Mass. Conference for Women., and has been trained or certified in a variety of coaching models and assessment tools. Deborah has facilitated 50+ job seekers networking groups since 2016.

The Sounds of Reading is a music-based early literacy program that introduces creative ways to incorporate music and sound into books for young children and their caregivers. 

We will explore, teach and interactively read stories that incorporate song, sounds, rhythms, and rhyme.  We will utilize instruments, chanting, and body percussion to engage children and families in a dynamic and interactive style.  Families will also gather a list of resources and books to take home and try on their own.

Geared for ages 2-5 years old, with a caregiver.

We will explore, teach and interactively read stories that incorporate song, sounds, rhythms, and rhyme.  We will utilize instruments, chanting, and body percussion to engage children and families in a dynamic and interactive style.  Families will also gather a list of resources and books to take home and try on their own.

Author Chat: An Evening of Poetry & Prose

Enjoy an evening with two local authors from the Straw Dogs Writers Guild. 

Rick Paar is the author of God Bless America and Breakfast Burritos to Go. He is also a psychologist who chaired the Department of Psychology at Springfield College where he taught courses in counseling and psychotherapy.  His stories have been published in Meat for Tea, Blue Nib, Aethelon, Voices, Psychotherapy Patient, and The International Journal of Play among others. He has been a columnist for three newspapers/journals and is on the Board of Directors of Straw Dogs Writers Guild. His academic writing has appeared in a variety of journals with topics ranging from the metaphysical, to play and creativity. He is currently working on his next book.

Joshua Michael Stewart is the author of three poetry collections: Break Every String, The Bastard, Children of Dharma Bums, and Love Something. His poems have appeared in the Massachusetts Review,Salamander, Plainsongs, Brilliant Corners, South Dakota Review, Permafrost, and many others.

Colorful Soap Making Workshop

Each participant will make their own fun and quirky rainbow swirl soap using a glycerin based soap, colorful soap curls, color, cosmetic glitter and a variety of scents. We will discuss the process of making cold process soap, blending of essential oils and the role of exfoliants in soap making.

If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your "Encore Career", this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking!

Join us in a professional forum for networking with peers in a safe and comfortable environment conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition. Each meeting features a new topic. Meetings include a presentation and hands-on workshop on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and 1-on-1 coaching guidance. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search.

Hiking the Appalachian Trail with Sam Ducharme

Sam Ducharme set out on a 2180 mile, 14 state backpacking trip from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Mt. Katahdin Maine. During his six month journey he
documented the rugged beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, the wildlife, the hardships encountered on the trail, as well as the people, culture and humanity at
its finest. Come join him as he takes you through the trail towns, over the mountaintops and through the backcountry. The images and stories will leave you
with a renewed awe of the beauty of our country and its people.

Join Pathways for Parents CFCE for Grow Play Learn. This group will include a storytime curriculum, fun play activities, and the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. 

This program is geared for children up through age five with a caregiver. Participants are signing up for all 4 sessions, March 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th.

The magical sounds from the instruments coupled with vocals and Jeff's love and knowledge of his Scottish heritage create a delightful program of traditional and original tunes and songs.

Much of the history of Scotland, England and Ireland is preserved in song. Hearing those stories along with the songs educate as well as entertain. You will see singing, laughing, lots of smiles and perhaps a few tears.

Funded by the Friends of the East Longmeadow Public Library

Join us in a professional forum for networking with peers in a safe and comfortable environment conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition. Each meeting features a new topic. Meetings include a presentation and hands-on workshop on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and 1-on-1 coaching guidance. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search.

Each biweekly meeting is facilitated by Deborah Hope, MBA, PCIC, an experienced executive career coach.
