American Sign Language Basics Virtual Class

This class is held in four sessions: January 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th. Please register on the January 6th class and you are signing up for all four classes.

This is a fun course to learn the basics of American Sign Language. The emphasis is to build a usable sign language vocabulary and beginners level ASL structure.  Additionally, students will develop appropriate grammar through expressive and receptive signing skills.  Handouts and other online resources we will provide.  Please note, our classes are hands-on and activity focused.  Students will receive homework assignments to help them retain the information they learn during class.

  • Students will learn the Manual Alphabet
  • Numbers 1 – 10
  • Learn the days of the week
  • Negation and Affirmations when conversing in ASL
  • ASL Sentence Structure – ASL Grammar

Parents of children 18-24 months will enjoy stories and songs via a Zoom link with Miss Kelly. Registered participants will be signing up for all 3 sessions, February 5, 12, and 26. You will receive a copy of the books that will be read each week to add to your book collection. Once registered, you will pick up a copy of the books through our curbside pickup.
