Throughout his life Alfred Hitchcock has always been the master of horrors, but the women in front of the camera did as much for him as those working behind the scenes. Contrary to what Hitch believed his leading ladies became his life line and the reason millions flocked to theatres to see them and why people today keep going back to his films. In this lecture costume designer and historian Jolene Marie Richardson will look deeply into the relationship between Hitch and his three most famous blondes, Grace KellyJanet Leigh, and Tippi Hedren. Their relationships on set, their lasting impact on the film industry at large, and how the look of the blonde became a Hitchcock signature throughout his film career.

Register at www.eastmeadow.info or call us at 794-2570 ask for Programming. We will then email the ZOOM link to you on the morning of the program.

Surf Avenue is both a delicate comedy and a hard assessment of the tough space between dreams and fruition. In this one-man show, the author takes the audience on a trip from his tough childhood in Queens, to life in the Marine Corps, to an insider’s place on the New York Stock Exchange and even to the set of Law and Order. Along the way, he finds both mentors and tormentors who seem conspire to bring him to a final confrontation with the inner demons that keep him from realizing his dreams to be an actor.

There are 91 spaces available.

In this, their first adventure, Chet and Bernie investigate the disappearance of Madison, a teenage girl who may or may not have been kidnapped, but who has definitely gotten mixed up with some very unsavory characters. A well-behaved, gifted student, she didn't arrive home after school and her divorced mother is frantic. Bernie is quick to take the case - something about a cash flow problem that Chet's not all that clear about - and he's relieved, if vaguely suspicious, when Madison turns up unharmed with a story that doesn't add up. But when she disappears for a second time in a week, Bernie and Chet aren't taking any chances; they launch a full-blown investigation. Without a ransom demand, they're not convinced it's a kidnapping, but they are sure of one thing: something smells funny.

There are 93 spaces available.
