History of the Swiss Community in Ellington with Dianne Trueb

Learn about the history of the Swiss-German immigration to Ellington. Over 1000 individuals today can trace their lineage back to 16 common ancestors who immigrated to our town between 1868 and 1905.  First arriving as weavers, then farmers, and now local business owners, this group has had a visible and meaningful impact on our community.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

I would like to request to use the upstairs meeting room to for a blood drive. Our hours for the drive would be 11am to 4pm. I am requesting 10am to 5pm to allow for set up and break down of the drive. The American Red Cross needs blood drive sponsors like the Ellington Hall Memorial Library as a meeting site for blood donors to give blood which helps ensure lifesaving blood products are available for hospital patients in need.

"Traditional" Writing Group:  This will be a critique group where members submit their writing prior to the meeting and no later than one week before.  Each member will review the submission and be prepared to share their critiques during the meeting.  Members are welcome to bring copies of their work to the group for next meeting review.  The goal is to provide objective feedback, support and inspiration.
