Join Becky Malamut, River Restoration Coordinator from the North and South Rivers Watershed Association, for a presentation titled, Let Our Rivers Flow!
Learn about river restoration, dam removal and the fish that call our rivers home and why it is so important to restore our rivers now more than ever. There are 3,000 dams in Massachusetts and the majority were built to support industries that no longer exist. What remains are the im- pacts of these dams on the health of our rivers and the habitats they support. We see those impacts along the Indian Head River, which flows through our community. Two dams on the Indian Head River are currently being considered for removal - one at Ludden’s Ford Park on the Hanover/Pembroke town line and another at State Street on the Hanover/Hanson town line.
