Night at the Oscars with Frank Mandosa

The Hanson Public Library Foundation is rolling out the red carpet. Come and brush up on Hollywood’s biggest night!    

A Night at the Oscars 

  • Get ready for the Oscars with this fun filled program on the Academy Awards presented by film expert Frank Mandosa 
  • Learn about the latest nominated films and award history 
  • View film clips of memorable and infamous Oscar moments 
  • Answer interactive trivia questions based on current and previous award nominees

Frank Mandosa Bio:
Frank Mandosa is a full-time high school English and film teacher with a lifelong love of literature and cinema. As a film historian, Frank has been giving talks on a wide variety of film-related topics since 2012.

Ellen Johnson Gustafson Memorial Plaque Dedication

Please join us for the dedication ceremony of the Ellen Johnson Gustafson Memorial Plaque in appreciation for the generous donation by Ellen's brother Arnold Johnson and his wife Debra to benefit children's services. There will be a brief ceremony during which guests will have the opportunity to view the interactive cube and makerspace cart made possible by the Johnson's gift. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend!

Beauty and the Beast Storytime

A featured costumed character from the Massasoit Theatre Company’s upcoming production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be here for storytime! Join us on Saturday February 15th at 10:30am for a magical morning. There will be a chance for questions and photos after the reading.

The Massasoit Community College Theater Company at the Brockton Campus is presenting Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Hiking the Bay Circuit Trail: A Video Journal

Dan & Marilyn Brielmann along with Alan French will be your guides taking you along the Bay Circuit Trail, a 200 mile natural wonder that arcs around the city of Boston from Newburyport to Kingston.

This is a multi-media presentation on the Bay Circuit Trail and the environment. Dan incorporates his video and musical talents to bring the environmental issues of our day in a documentary news style that inspires us to meet the people who are Caring for the Earth.   In doing this video, he met and interviewed over 60 people.   Alan French is an Andover resident and was the founder, Chairman and Executive Director of the Bay Circuit Alliance, Inc.  He’s here to talk about the more than 25 years he was involved with this project and making it a reality.    

This event is co-sponsored with Green Hanson.
