Tuesday Book Discussion
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Join us as we discuss Stolen: Five Free Boys Kidnapped Into Slavery and Their Astonishing Odyssey Home by Richard Bell.

Meticulously researched, this is the true story of an 1825 kidnapping from the streets of  Philadelphia. Less known than the Underground Railroad that brought runaway slaves north, this “Inverse Underground Railroad” brought about the same number of people south and west into slavery.

Discussion begins at 1:00 and will again be held at Parmelee Farm weather permitting. The location will be near the farmhouse in the shade of its trees. Bring a chair. Should the weather be uncooperative, a Zoom invite will be sent out.

Extra copies are available at the circulation desk.
