Reading Buddies

Registration is required for this program by calling 508.473.2145 x216.

Open to youths in grades K-5.

Overseen by the Youth Services staff, youths in grades K-3 are paired with a youth in grade 4 or 5 to work on their reading skills! This is an informal program to help youths build their confidence. This is a great opportunity for youths who are just learning to read AND if you have a reader you’re struggling to engage. Those who are not reading on grade level will have a chance to practice with lower level books that they wouldn’t otherwise pick up and to increase their confidence as they read to someone younger than themselves. Registration is required for this program by calling 508.473.2145 x216. There will be 2 sessions available: 4:30-5 and 5-5:30.

A few notes:

-Caregivers with youths under the age of 10 must stay in the building for the duration of the program

-If we do not receive enough registrations to successful pair youths, we will need to cancel the session. Those who do register will be notified the day before if this is the case.
