Mother Goose on the Loose is based on an award-winning early-literacy program for children from birth to age 3 with their parents or caregivers. This program is geared specifically towards the young child and engages participants with one-on-one interaction between child and caregiver. 

Created by Mother Goose on the Loose Executive Director Dr. Betsy Diamant-Cohen, this innovative program is based on research which shows that children learn best through routine and repetition in a nurturing environment. Mother Goose on the Loose uses a variety of activities, such as rhymes, songs, puppets and instruments to foster speech development, motor coordination, self-confidence, and sensitivity to others.

This program is an excellent way to begin social interaction and a fantastic opportunity for parents to meet others.

There is a growing need for a place to come together to support each other, discuss the impact of the disease, and, together, pave the way to a healthier future. Monthly meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month with a new topic being highlighted at each meeting.

Due to chemical sensitivities, please refrain from wearing perfumes or scented lotions to the support group sessions.

Mother Goose on the Loose is based on an award-winning early-literacy program for children from birth to age 3 with their parents or caregivers. This program is geared specifically towards the young child and engages participants with one-on-one interaction between child and caregiver. 

Created by Mother Goose on the Loose Executive Director Dr. Betsy Diamant-Cohen, this innovative program is based on research which shows that children learn best through routine and repetition in a nurturing environment. Mother Goose on the Loose uses a variety of activities, such as rhymes, songs, puppets and instruments to foster speech development, motor coordination, self-confidence, and sensitivity to others.

This program is an excellent way to begin social interaction and a fantastic opportunity for parents to meet others.

Photo Scavenger Hunt for Teens

The hunt is on! It’s time for our 5th Annual Teen Department Photo Scavenger Hunt.  Get a team together (or go it solo) and try your hand at finding some of the wacky and weird items on our list and undertake our crazy challenges.  Your scavenger hunt lists can be  picked up at the Information Desk or the Circulation Desk starting Monday, August 13th and photos can be submitted from August 14-August 20.  The winning team will be notified on Tuesday, August 21st and all participants on the team will  receive a mystery prize that includes some delicous treats and a gift card to an “undisclosed” location. 

All photos must be submitted by Monday, August 20th at 8:00 PM to qualify for the prize!
